Pregnancy massage is a massage that is specifically tailored for the
expectant mother's needs. It helps calm the baby, improve digestive
disorders, improve overall pre-natal health, improve skin condition,
relieve muscle and joint aches and pains, reduce stress, tension and
anxiety levels, and reduce fluid retention.
It is possible to experience a full body massage at any stage of
pregnancy. Laying in a semi-reclined position throughout the massage
ensures support, comfort and safety for both mother and baby. There is
the option to have the back massage in a side-lying position or seated
on a chair leaning over the couch.
Pregnancy massage can also incorporate aromatherapy essential oils to
help relax, soothe and calm the mind and body throughout the 9 months.
There is much concern over the use of essential oils in pregnancy yet
there is no known or proven risk to the baby when these therapeutic oils
are used in massage.
